Saturniid Silk Moths

Giant silk moths, also known as saturniids, are among the largest and most spectacular moths in the world. They are in the family of Lepidoptera and have an estimated 1,300 to 1,500 described species worldwide. Most know these saturniids as gaint silk moths such as the Actias luna, Antheraea polyphemus, Hyalophora cecropia and the Callosamia promethea.
