Description Watch these Spicebush swallowtail butterfly hatch into caterpillars. These adult butterflies have iridescent blue on them that looks so cool. Spicebussh butterflies do very well indoors and are easy to farm. All butterfly egg shipments must be next day air. Eggs should hatch with in one week. Remember you must have sassafras or spicebush for these caterpillars when they arrive as their food supply. They eat a lot, so be prepared. You may purchase your sassafras or spicebush from us or from a local dealer. Caterpillars usually take from one to three weeks to reach pupation size depending on species.
